Judiciary Wins Big At JLOS Recognition Awards

The Judiciary has emerged overall winner in the Justice Law and Order Sector (JLOS) Recognition Awards ceremony which was part of the activities to mark the 22nd Sector Review.
The Review which also marked as the launch of the Fourth Sector Development Plan (SDP IV) saw the Judiciary scoop the JLOS Milestone Achievement Award (2017). The award was in recognition of the courts record-breaking case backlog reduction rates in the FY 2016/17. The Judiciary weeded out 175,000 cases which are credited to the increased efforts and investments in the case backlog reduction programme.
The Chief Registrar, HW Gadenya Paul Wolimbwa, was awarded the JLOS Leadership Excellence Award (2017) in recognition of his contribution to the Justice, Law and Order Sector as Chief Registrar.
Hon. Lady Justice Dr. Winifred Nabisinde was the recipient of the JLOS Innovation Award (2017) for her innovative and proactive efforts in the justice for children programme.
The Entebbe District Chain-Link Committee,under the leadership of CM HW Mary, was awarded JLOS DCC of the Year Award (2017). The DCC has been effective in public engagement efforts through low cost methods such as market outreach sessions, barazas and open days.
The award for the JLOS Regional Chain-link Committee went to Lira, under the leadership of Lira Resident Judge, Hon. Lady Justice Dr. Nabisinde, for its effective coordination of sector programmes in the Northern Circuit.
